Editorial services for authors and publishers

Shelfworn Books

Kyra Wojdyla, book editor and owner of Shelfworn Books

I specialize in developmental editing, line editing, and proofreading of fiction with a particular passion for romance. I believe books can transport readers to worlds filled with passion, adventure, and heartfelt connections. I am not, however, a good fit for spiritual or faith-based novels.

With over a decade of editorial experience, I've had the privilege of collaborating with independent authors and various publishing houses, including Amazon Publishing, Mason Crest, Quarto Press, Ooligan Press, Ripley Entertainment, Travel + Leisure, and more. I hold a M.S. in writing and book publishing from Portland State University and a B.A. in creative writing from the University of Central Florida. My academic foundation complements my practical experience, ensuring a comprehensive approach to storytelling.

I understand that each author has a distinctive voice, and it is my primary mission to preserve and enhance that voice throughout the editing process. I strive to create an environment of trust and collaboration, where the author's vision remains at the forefront.

I firmly believe in the significance of the author-editor partnership. I'm dedicated to helping authors craft their manuscripts into polished, engaging, and emotionally resonant stories. My approach is a blend of avid reader, sharp-eyed critic, and devoted friend. I dive into your work with the enthusiasm of a passionate fiction reader, immersing myself in your narrative world. With the discerning eye of an editor, I ensure your novel is clear, concise, and coherent. I bring the emotional investment of a friend, caring deeply about the impact of your story on readers.

Together, we will create stories that not only entertain but also touch the hearts of readers, leaving a lasting impact.

Hi! I'm Kyra.
